FOR YOUR EYES ONLY: THAT LOVING FEELING

-THE HUNTER

JUST ANOTHER MANLY MONDAY: WE HIKE IT LIKE THAT

what does hiking say about a man? well, obviously he likes the outdoors, enjoys physical exertion and loves snacking on dried fruit and corn nuts. we wouldn't be complaining except.... corn nut breath is bad news. it's forgivable though because hiking in beautiful places with a manly man is on our top-ten list. enjoy, kind reader.

what manly man would leave home without essentials like these? the canary-yellow backpack is functional without being fussy and boots are just standard.

sierra lace extra rugged boot laces & j.r. liggett's outdoor hygiene pouch

when it's cold-- warm him up with a down jacket and sturdy whiskey flask.

there you have it. the man who hikes is a manly man indeed.

SOCKS, FLANNEL & SAM BEAM

we wish you the very happiest of fridays, kind reader -- preferably one in which you can wear wool socks and flannel and drink coffee on a porch somewhere buried in the appalachians.

BACK TO THE FORT

remember building forts when you were little?
californian wes bruce, does. moving far beyond a few blankets anchored by dictionaries and bureau drawers, bruce abandons adult expectations and explores what it means to create a space from a child's sense of possibility and inhibition.

see for yourself:

yes, perhaps bruce is a shade past loony, but you have to admit, kind reader, his forts are everything you thought yours looked like when you were 7.

keep your childish wits about you today,
